IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE:

The foundation components of the Greenfield Animal Hospital Wellness program are:

  • A comprehensive annual physical exams
  • Appropriate laboratory tests
  • Immunizations based on lifestyle
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Client education

Our goal is to enhance "The Bond" between you and your pet by maintaining the quality and longevity of your
pet's life.

SPAY AND NEUTERS:

An important part of responsible pet ownership is to have your pet spayed or neutered.  Beyond the reproductive
instinct behavior, this can decrease the chances of certain cancers (testicular and mammary) as well as female
infections.  Males can experience aggression, inappropriate markings and straying from home when not
neutered.  Our procedures include pre-anesthetic blood work to make sure you pet is able to safely handle the
anesthesia.  Further, we use the safest and highest quality anesthesia, IV fluids during the procedure to keep
your pet well hydrated to protect their young organs.  We believe strongly in pain management and always send
home a few days worth of the appropriate pain medication to be administer at home.  The procedure is typically
same day, with the patient arriving early morning and released after post surgery observation around 4:00 pm.

INTERNAL MEDICINE:

Illness, accident and disease are an unfortunate fact of life. We provide the most current equipment needed to
diagnose and treat your pet. Diabetes, heart disease, renal disease, dermatological conditions, orthopedic
injuries and malignancies are common conditions we manage and treat.

We work closely with Board Certified Veterinarians when needed to provide the finest care for your pet.

SURGERY:

We are very proud of our surgical service. We offer the most advanced anesthesia and surgical techniques and
technology. All patients are carefully examined and pre-anesthetic lab work is performed so that we specifically
tailor your pet's anesthesia protocol. All patients are monitored by our Licensed Veterinary Technicians during
procedures.  Cardiac and respiratory monitors, pulse oximeters and heated surgical tables are used on each
patient to increase margins of safety.

Our Veterinarians regularly attend continuing education seminars to maintain our knowledge of the most current
techniques.  Our hospital is routinely inspected by the American Animal Hospital Association to insure the
highest of quality.  We work closely with Board Certified Surgeons, either in-clinic or by referral when indicated.

Post surgical care includes pain assessment monitoring to insure your pet receives the best of care.

DENTAL CARE:

Proper oral health is important to maintaining your pet's health. We encourage home dental care for your pet
through a variety of techniques and products.

When professional dental prophylaxis is indicated, we utilize hand scaling, high-speed dental equipment, and
the most up to date products for your pet. Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are trained to scale, clean and
polish teeth to create a smooth, healthy tooth and gum surface that is more resistant to disease. Fluoride
treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity.  Our Veterinarians do a thorough examination
of your pet's teeth, gums and oral cavity.

In the event of significant periodontal disease or extractions, we focus on appropriate antibiotic therapy and pain
management.

highly trained kennel attendants provide tender loving care for your pets when boarding.  Pets are fed twice daily,
monitored carefully, walked regularly, bathed and brushed when indicated and treated as we would treat our
